The Miami Herald was founded in 1903 and is one of the largest newspapers in Florida. It is currently owned by the McClatchy Company, a large publishing company based in Sacramento, California. According to the Miami Herald's website, it has regular readers in South Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America and circulates in a very culturally diverse region. In 2013, the Miami Herald moved it's headquarters to Doral, Florida, a city a few miles west of Miami.

Miami Dade County’s Metromover is cutting its operating hours to make technical improvements required by a 2022 project. The train, which normally runs daily from 5 a.m. till midnight, will begin service at 5:30 a.m. and close at 10 p.m. starting June 1 “until further notice,” according to a county press release. The two-and-half-hour adjustment is meant to expedite the project and upgrade safety and reliability, according to the report.
