As a co-founder of MoveOn.org, Joan Blades has seen political polarization undermine our capacity to address crucial national challenges. To directly address that dysfunction, she co-founded LivingRoomConversations.org which revitalizes civil discourse in America, one living room at a time. Her career has focused on empowering people in different capacities, co-founding MomsRising.org and co-authoring The Motherhood Manifesto and The Custom-Fit Workplace. Trained as an attorney/mediator, 10 years as a software entrepreneur and always a nature lover, she is also an artist, mother and true believer in the power of citizens & our need to rebuild respectful civil discourse and embrace our core shared values.
