President Trump acknowledged that, if he wanted to, he could get Kilmar Abrego Garcia back to the United States by calling El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele and explaining that that’s what he wanted done. But, in a combative interview with ABC News, the president said he would not do that because Abrego Garcia is an MS-13 member.

Columbia University graduate Mahmoud Khalil's bid to remain in the United States survives after a New Jersey federal judge decided Tuesday he could retain jurisdiction over the case.

Khalil claimed he was detained and targeted for deportation because of his speech at pro-Palestinian protests on the Columbia campus and challenged his detention based on the constitutionality of the State Department's finding that his continued presence in the country could have "serious adverse foreign policy consequences" for the United States.

Van Hollen Makes Personal Appeal to Trump to Return Deported Immigrant

Senator Chris Van Hollen, Democrat of Maryland, made a personal request on Tuesday to President Trump to return a Salvadoran national and Maryland resident who was mistakenly deported last month and remains imprisoned in El Salvador, accusing Mr. Trump of “gross violations of the Constitution and due process rights” in Kilmar Armando Abrego Garcia’s case.

In the lengthy letter, Mr. Van Hollen scolded Mr. Trump for willfully ignoring a Supreme Court decision instructing his administration to “facilitate” the man’s return.
