Walz: ‘The Electoral College needs to go’

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, the Democratic Party’s vice presidential nominee, suggested Tuesday night that the Electoral College should be abolished during two West Coast campaign stops.

Walz mentioned the concept during fundraisers in Seattle and in Sacramento, Calif., while talking to donors in the deep blue areas.

“And we know, because of our system of the Electoral College, that puts a few states in real focus,” Walz said in Seattle. “I’m a national popular vote guy, but that’s not the world we live in.”

Walz Says the Electoral College ‘Needs to Go’

Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota on Tuesday called for abolishing the Electoral College as a means of electing American presidents, reiterating a position he has articulated in the past while he and Vice President Kamala Harris are in the heat of a campaign for the White House.

Twice during campaign fund-raisers on the West Coast, Mr. Walz said he would prefer that presidential candidates did not have to focus on a few political battlegrounds and could instead focus on winning votes from across the country.

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D), the Democratic Party candidate for Vice President, called for the abolition of the Electoral College at a Tuesday fundraiser with California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) at his Sacramento home.

Walz, endorsing the Democrats’ campaign for a “National Popular Vote,” would give inordinate power to the large “blue” states, meaning presidential candidates would spend all their time in Democratic cities like New York City and Los Angeles.

Harris pushed on Ukraine, debt and if 'mistakes' were made at border

US Vice-President Kamala Harris was pressed on issues including the Middle East, Ukraine, gun ownership and immigration during a one-on-one interview with CBS News' 60 Minutes.

The recorded interview comes as Harris ramps up media appearances on a series of podcasts and TV networks amid criticism that she has made very few.

Donald Trump also was invited to 60 Minutes, but declined.

There is less than a month to go before Election Day in the race for the White House between the Democrat and her Republican opponent.

From her Glock to Putin: Six takeaways from the Harris 60 Minutes interview

Vice President Kamala Harris had her toughest interview to date on Monday evening as CBS’s 60 Minutes didn’t let her off the hook for her flip-flops.

Many of her sit-downs have been with friendly media outlets, including MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle, who had endorsed her, to the Call Your Daddy podcast last weekend.

But with less than a month until Election Day, Harris is amid a media blitz, hoping to upend the dynamic of her race against former President Donald Trump to be back in her favor.

Even CNN Is Reporting on Walz's COVID Fraud

In addition to being the Democratic vice presidential nominee, Tim Walz serves as the Democratic governor of Minnesota, and he continues to be in a world of hurt with scandals over how he's handled that role. On Friday, CNN put out a particularly damning report about the COVID fraud that took place under Walz's administration. CNN also put out a segment on the "program overseen by Minnesota's Department of Education was the single largest Covid-19 fraud scheme in the nation." The Trump War Room X account was all too happy...

Fact Check: Correcting Walz's Debate Lies on the Border Crisis, Abortion

Let's examine two claims made by Gov. Tim Walz during his debate loss to Sen. JD Vance on Tuesday.  We could rebut and contest even more assertions and statements, of course, as Walz's cascade of dishonesty has caused even NBC News to ask if the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee has "a problem with the truth."  But for the purposes of this post, let's stick to the substance issues of the border crisis and abortion.
