Three US citizen children, one with cancer, deported to Honduras, lawyers say

Three young children who are US citizens - including one with cancer - were deported to Honduras alongside their mothers last week, according to advocacy groups and the families' lawyers.

One of the children is a four-year-old with Stage 4 cancer who was sent without medication, a lawyer for the child's family said.

Donald Trump's border czar Tom Homan said the mothers had made the choice for their citizen children to be removed with them. "Having a US citizen child does not make you immune from our laws," he said, adding the mothers were in the US illegally.

Let pregnancy centers serve: Fighting back against Big Abortion’s bullying

Every community has charitable nonprofit organizations that help people navigate difficult situations. Some of those local, compassionate outreaches, however, are being bullied.

An unintended pregnancy is an unexpected battleground across the United States. Every woman should be loved and supported in her pregnancy. Compassionate help dedicated to encouraging women with unplanned pregnancies to say yes to their babies is not something that should be controversial.

A few blocks from the Democratic National Convention, Planned Parenthood is offering free medication abortions and vasectomies at its mobile health clinic to demonstrate “what is possible when policies truly support accessible reproductive health care,” according to the agency. Physicians were providing abortions and vasectomies by appointment on Monday in the West Loop and said they planned to continue doing so Tuesday. As of Monday evening, no appointments on Tuesday were available. The Chicago Abortion Fund has also been distributing free emergency contraceptive at the site.

It remains unclear whether the legislation will pass the House, which is currently on recess until September.
