Gold-medal boxer Imane Khelif is getting attacked by one of her former sparring partners.

Bulgarian-Nigerian women’s boxer Joana Nwamerue sparred with Khelif on several occasions and has bizarre theories on Khelif’s background after the Algerian boxer was in the middle of a gender controversy at the Olympics.

“[Khelif] has some kind of internal issues. But he is a man,” Nwamerue said, according to Reduxx. “I will stay [by] my words until he/she does a test to prove to the world that he/she is a woman. But we all know that won’t happen.”

The second of the two boxers caught up in a gender eligibility row at the Paris Olympics has won gold, 24 hours after the first. The Algerian boxer, whose eligibility has been called into question, advanced to the gold medal round of the women’s 66 kg welterweight division at the Paris Games, defeating Thailand’s Janjaem Suwannapheng by unanimous decision, 5-0.

One day after welterweight Imane Khelif of Algeria reached the women’s welterweight final with a third straight victory in Paris, Lin defeated Esra Yildiz Kahraman of Turkey 5:0 on Wednesday night for her third win.

Lin will fight for gold on Saturday, taking on Julia Szeremeta of Poland.
