According to AdImpact, an advertising analytics firm that tracks political advertising, projects a record $10.2 billion will be spent across all races in 2024. This would be an over 13% increase from the $9.02 billion spent in the 2020 elections. With polls indicating a very close Presidential election, the biggest benefactors of this ad spending largesse are the local television stations in seven swing states: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Georgia, North Carolina, Arizona and Nevada.

President-elect Donald J. Trump has won Arizona and its 11 electoral votes, The Associated Press said on Saturday night, flipping yet another swing state and bringing his final Electoral College tally to 312. With his victory in Arizona, Mr. Trump has now won all seven of this year’s battleground states.

Libertarian nominee Chase Oliver’s presence on the ballot in key battlegrounds is sparking concern among some nervous observers that he could tilt the election should it end up being extremely close.

Both Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump have spent considerable time and resources in the blue wall states throughout their campaigns. The states were Democratic strongholds for decades until Trump flipped three of them in 2016, but President Joe Biden flipped them blue again in 2020.
