Why I’m Leaving Instagram and Leading Differently

One of my biggest takeaways from Careless People is that an organization, over time, becomes a direct reflection of its leadership. The longer those leaders remain in power, the more the company mirrors their mindset, biases, and blind spots. That realization also raises a crucial question: As the COO/CFO what kind of imprint am I, and all of our leadership team, leaving on AllSides?

A Student's Perspective on the AllSides Bias Checker

The AllSides Bias Checker was launched in 2024. In alignment with the 7 Lenses for Evaluating AI for Civic Education we asked classrooms across the country to give us feedback on the AI-enhanced Bias Checker, because students should learn to be active analyzers of AI content, not just passive consumers. Students were asked to check an article in the Bias Checker and then answer the following questions.

The Election Will Not Solve Our Problems

Elections have consequences — and unfortunately, this one will not solve all our problems.



Regardless of who wins, there will still be fundamental problems politicians can’t fix. Bias and misinformation will still flood social networks and news media, pitting us against each other. Toxic business models, blind partisanship, filter bubbles and bad actors (domestic and international) will continue to sow social division and threaten the fabric of our democratic republic.

This growing polarization is a threat to our daily well being. When we can't talk with each other or agree on basic facts, how can we hope to get along at the dinner table or as a democratic society to solve the pressing issues that affect us all?
